Xiaoxiang (Ellen) Zheng

Research Assistant

Ellen is a MS in Psychology student at ASU. She recently joined Dr. Nina Sharp’s DESmart lab as a research assistant. Her research interest lies in understanding people’s emotion regulation and positive emotions. Specifically, she is recently investigating the interaction of emotion regulation strategies and romantic relationship functioning on influencing people’s well-being. Prior to joining ASU, Ellen worked in the School of Public Health, Chinese University of Hong Kong on several projects studying depression and anxiety, older adults’ mild cognitive impairment, and positive and negative childhood experiences. She has also worked as a research assistant in Dr. Kathy Hirsh-Pasek’s Infant & Child Lab at Temple University, where she was involved in probing children’s playful learning and cognitive development. Ellen is familiar with longitudinal intervention study design, meta-analysis, and large-scale community-based data analysis.
